What is Dynamics VEP?
Dynamics Volunteering Experience Programme provides opportunities for graduates and students who wish to experience working with children in an educational and early intervention practice. The volunteers get to work with the children directly and also experience firsthand the sessions conducted by our experienced Speech and Occupational Therapists.
The volunteers will also assist the teachers in class management and transitions, and work with the students in a small group setting, under the guidance of the teachers.
Our VEP is well-received and we are proud of some of our volunteers who have become professionals in the education, speech and occupational therapy sector.
How long can I volunteer?
The minimum volunteering period is 1 month and the minimum volunteering days are 10 times a month. Our volunteers usually attend 3 sessions a week. Volunteering is only available during EIP terms and the school holiday programmes.
In terms of timing, our volunteers will report at 9am for the morning session and 1.30pm for the afternoon session. Some volunteers attend both sessions, that is, from 9am to 4.30pm. All volunteers will be reporting to the Head of EIP directly. To maximise and enjoy your time volunteering with us, we encourage you to be open to learning, be proactive and take initiative!
Who can volunteer?
If you are keen to learn and experience working with children in the early intervention setting, you can be a volunteer! As a guideline, here are what we look out for in our volunteers:
- Experience working with children is an advantage
- Background in Psychology/ Early Childhood/ Speech/ Occupational Therapy – we welcome fresh graduates
- Students currently studying Psychology/ Early Childhood/ Speech/ Occupational Therapy
- Able to commit to the hours set
- Willingness to learn and be involved in class management
- Sign and adhere to the confidentiality agreement to protect the privacy and confidentiality of our students
- Love children!
